Weekly Rose 9/27

For our second lab day, participants continued to gain knowledge and explore new skills while working in their departments. This week, Design focused on progress towards the elements, continuing their work on the grid framework, shaping, and the vertical supports. The Concealment sub-department sent their member, Allison Mora, to the fashion district to source more neoprene. Decorations focused on taking inventory and testing materials for the elements. Decorations, alongside Concealment, are planning an educational field trip to the Huntington Library, one of our possible donors. Operations focused on progress towards merchandise, updating the website, taking inventory, and rendering designs. Operations also began training participants on photo editing and vectorization software. Construction focused mostly on drilling, welding, and assembling panels and pieces for the different elements. Construction is also working on some miscellaneous projects, building doors for Design and shelves for Decorations. In the meantime, the hydraulics sub-department tested cylinders, and the electronics sub-department continued testing their cameras and control boxes.
