Event: Rose Float Kick Off Meeting
The 2012 Cal Poly Rose Float Rendering
Cal Poly Universities, Pomona and San Luis Obispo, will enter their 64th consecutive float in the 2012 Pasadena Tournament of Roses Parade! The Rose Float Program gives students and volunteers a hands-on learning experience by designing, engineering, building, and operating their own float. Our universities’ “To the Rescue” float exhibits the parade theme, “Just Imagine.” A helicopter falling out of the sky, buildings collapsing, and a run away train are no problem for the Cal Poly Heroes as they come “To The Rescue!”

Burglary—Rose Float Lab
University Police is investigating a burglary that occurred at the Rose Float Lab in Building #64 and two adjacent storage containers. This building is near the Facilities Management buildings just off South Campus Drive near Citrus Lane. The crime was reported on Saturday, March 5, 2011 at approx. 9:30 a.m. The work and storage areas were last seen locked with all items intact on Thursday, March 3, 2011 at approx. 12:00 noon. One of the storage units is owned by Cal Poly San Luis Obispo (SLO).
