University Police is investigating a burglary that occurred at the Rose Float Lab in Building #64 and two adjacent storage containers. This building is near the Facilities Management buildings just off South Campus Drive near Citrus Lane. The crime was reported on Saturday, March 5, 2011 at approx. 9:30 a.m. The work and storage areas were last seen locked with all items intact on Thursday, March 3, 2011 at approx. 12:00 noon. One of the storage units is owned by Cal Poly San Luis Obispo (SLO).
The sliding door of the Lab was pried open to enter the work area. The storage containers were accessed by cutting the latch and the u-lock,
respectively. Various pieces of industrial equipment were stolen, including welders, reciprocating saws, grinders and other related tools.
The University Police Department is seeking information from anyone in the campus or surrounding communities who may have information on this crime. If you have any information regarding these incidents, please contact University Police at (909) 869-3070.
